The Comodo is an advanced, multi-purpose fire detection system designed to be placed in high-risk fire areas within compact spaces or vehicles, ensuring immediate and effective response.
How it works
Developed by The Fire Knight company, The Comodo is a small, portable fire detection system containing an environmentally friendly fire suppression fluid, initially crafted for automotive safety but versatile enough for various applications. It comes in three sizes—0.5 litre, 1 litre, and 1.8 litre—and can be custom-built for larger needs.
Utilising a dual-sensor strategy, The Comodo combines UV and IR measuring sensors with a flame sensor to ensure precise activation when necessary. It can be powered by your vehicle’s power source or operate on a battery. Controlled by an 8-bit microcontroller, it includes a charging section for a 2AH lithium-ion polymer (LiPo) battery, capable of lasting 12 months without needing a recharge or replacement. With integrated temperature sensors and timer logic, The Comodo is a reliable fire safety tool for any vehicle, designed to fit seamlessly anywhere within it.
The Comodo offers adaptable fire suppression solutions for challenging or unconventional spaces. It’s ideal for remote cabins, tiny homes, caravans, trailers, boats, and their galleys, as well as compact kitchens where traditional ceiling-mounted systems are impractical. It also excels in industrial control rooms, battery storage areas, and soldering stations.
Perfect for residential garages, food trucks, and laboratories—especially those handling volatile chemicals—The Comodo is also well-suited for retail storage areas, art galleries, museums, historical buildings, and public transport vehicles, thanks to its flexible design.
Strategic Placement:
Rear-end collisions, a common accident type worldwide, can quickly ignite fires due to the proximity of petrol tanks to the rear axle. The Comodo can be strategically placed in vehicles to help suppress fires, including those that may occur in petrol tanks during such collisions. The specific mounting location may vary based on vehicle design and local regulations, but it is generally recommended to install The Comodo in accessible areas like the trunk/boot, under seats, engines, or designated compartments.
